Repair Obligations & Tenant Remedies
New Jersey does not have a statutory repair-and-deduct remedy. Tenants must typically pursue code enforcement or court action for habitability failures. Consult New Jersey Anti-Eviction Act (N.J.S.A. Β§Β§ 2A:18-61.1 et seq.) + Truth in Renting Act for current tenant remedies.
